Hi everyone! How’s the start of 2018 for you so far? I’m pretty sure most of us have all our planners already set-up for 2018 but for those who don’t have it yet, here’s a very nice option for you!
The BDJ Quest Journal is a very flexible journal under Belle De Jour’s planner line. With the sudden hype of people for Traveler’s Notebooks, I believe that the Quest Journal is a perfect product for newbies who want to try it out first but aren’t really sure if that planner type will be okay for them. It’s perfect for bullet journaling and travel journaling – or even just random note keeping and memory keeping.
It’s the second week of January and I hope you all had a nice “welcome, 2017” that went on last week. I’m pretty sure by now, most of us have figured out what planners and journals we will be using for 2017. Well if you’re undecided yet, then maybe The 2017 Life List Planner by Clara Paperie might be for you!
Hi everyone! We’re basically a month and a few days from 2017. Phew, boy, did 2016 went by so fast! And with every coming year comes the fervent desire to have everything planned out and figured out. Am I right or am I right? LOL. One of the planners that really caught my attention is CNS Designs’ 2017 Design Your Life (DYL) Back to Basics Planner. I wanted to share to everyone what’s in store for them once they decide to jump into the planner and DYL bandwagon!
The 2017 DYL Back to Basics Planner is a 12-month weekly planner and measures 7.75 x 8.5 inches with binding. It also comes in a bigger size than it was before which means more writing space and has 180 full-colored pages with thick book paper so there’s no problem about the ink of your pens blotting on the pages. I also fell in love with the gold protective corners to prevent the corners of your planner from being damaged. The DYL Back to Basics Planner starts on December 26, 2016.
No Tear Double-Sided Pocket
I love that the pockets are back to back. It means more space for all my bills, receipts, notes, and other important papers I need to slide in my planner. I can also keep the stickers I want to use for my spreads and some sticky notes here. Although I love its clean, white look, I would love to personalize the pockets more! I’ll probably post about that soon.
Super Cute and Unique Stickers
Stickers are a vital part of my planning process. I believe that they don’t only add creativity and beauty to planner spreads, but they also help out in inducing productivity. There’s also a Christmas gift card just in case you have plans of giving this as a gift to someone! A nice thank you note from the people behind CNS Designs is included and oooh, I love the motivational bookmark that also doubles as a handy ruler!
I believe “About Me” or Personal Information pages are really important for planners just in case you leave it somewhere. We all hope for that someone who’s kind enough to return it to you. My planners are my life, well, basically, they contain EVERYTHING that’s going on in my life so it’s really important to have all the contact details, personal or emergency, in the front page of your planner!
Contacts + Manual
There’s a page allotted for you to write important contact information or you can write down the information of your favorite online shops for you to always be able to find it immediately. The right page is a space for you to plan out and create your own system for the coming year. You can write down keys or codes, color schemes, and what-nots that you’ll be using in your planner spread for 2017 to make it a more personalized experience.
As per usual planners, we have the full 2016 and 2018 calendar. This gives us more ease in trying to remember important day and dates for the past and next year. I also love the 2017 full-page events. It’s a space to jot down important dates and events so you can have an overview of how your year’s going to be.
Last Times + Monthlies
Always stay updated on when you did something for the Last Time. A visit to the doctor and dentist, perhaps? You can also keep track of your monthly recurring activities, due dates, and appointments in the Monthlies page.
I’m the kind of person who really appreciates wide spaces because I really write a lot. This gives me the chance to have a glance at what’s going to happen for the month and prolly doodle on it. You can set one major Monthly Goal and have a quick overview of all your Pending to-dos from the next month that will be transferred to the current month. There’s also a space beside the month for you to possibly write a mantra or quote you want to inspire you for the month. Jot down all the Noteworthy things that happened to you during each month!
Vertical spreads started to become my thing ever since I tried it out in the Me and My Big Ideas (MAMBI) Happy Planner. I’m glad that there’s a local planner brand now with the same system. It has a wider space now for you to write down all the things you need to do and remember. There’s a weekly inspiring quote, a space for you to write down your Power Word, Week Goal, and Major to Do list for the week. Like the monthly page, it also has a space for you to write down all the Noteworthy events that transpired throughout the week. You can also track your water intake through the glass icons situated in each day.
Whether you agree to it or not, tracking your own expenses is really helpful especially if you’re trying to save up for something. The DYL Back to Basics Planner gives you the chance and space to track your monthly expenses and incorporate it to your end of the year Cash Flow spread.
You can already start taking down notes of the important dates for the next year with the 2018 Planner pages at the last part of the planner. This way, you can pre-plan events and just migrate them next year.
Having taken Project Management for a semester in college and having it applied to work, I realized that not only is it vital to Information Technology but also to my own life as well. It may sound funny for some but there’s a big difference in proceeding to do something without tracking its progress and actually knowing how far you’ve come in that certain project.
Sleep Tracker + Travel Checklist
Having tracked my sleep for the past months, I believe this is really vital so that you can know how many hours you’ve slept and make up for lost sleep during the weekend. Hey, sleep and rest is really important for a person’s health!
There’s also a Travel Checklist page for you to write down your constant musts when you travel.
There are Travel Planners for at least three trips you might take this 2017. Just in case you have more than that, you can prolly just copy the format of it and stick it in your planner or maybe use the Notes pages for it? Entirely up to you! 🙂
Doodle on it, write down poems, scribble songs, or treat as your brain dump – anything goes for the wide pages of notes at the end of the planner.
Here’s a quick review and overview of the 2017 DYL Back to Basics Planner I uploaded on my vlog! Hope you enjoyed this review!
I love how the planner groups I’m in give me the chance to get to know more local sellers. I’m not really creative and artsy but seeing planner kits for sale on Instagram or Facebook groups, they ignite a fire within me to create something beautiful because let’s face it, all these sellers create beautiful items and kits!
Now last month, I purchased the first item off of Planner Lookbook by Empress Rome and I just loved how it matched my Phasma! I’m not really a fan of girly stuff and glittered things but this, my dearies, this is a total exception!
The things that were included in the kit were:
1 Audrey Hepburn paperclip
1 set page flags
1 pre-cut sticker sheet
I also received a lot of cute freebies when I ordered. I gave a bunch of page flags to three of my planner sisters during our first planner meet-up. I didn’t mind sharing them because they were just so cute that I wanted to share it with them. I already saw Empress Rome’s cute Disney Princesses paper clips before and they just ran out so fast plus I was a newbie back then so I didn’t really know what I wanted and needed.
So what did I do with my Planner Lookbook kit? Tadaaah! Audrey looking mighty fine with my spread!
I bought this Tiffany & Co. Inspired Planner Lookbook Kit for P380. Did I get what I paid for? Yes. Will I order once they release a new kit? Totally! Plus, the transaction was really smooth and Ms. Empress is really kind!
Hello planner junkies! This is my second Paponei’s Gifts planner kit and I’m really excited to share it with you!
First things first, I have to say this out loud: I hated pink before. Now don’t judge me if it’s your favorite color, but it just didn’t work out for me. Upon joining all the planner groups and browsing Pinterest, a few blogs, and Youtube for planner DIYs, tutorials, how tos, and others, I have learned to not hate it but appreciate it instead. BUt it still didn’t really encourage me to buy pink stuff for my planner. But guess what? Paponei’s Gifts February Kit really proved to me that it is indeed pleasing to the eyes (no, I still don’t love it lol, green’s still my fave color).
Now that I’ve written that out in the open, let me show you what was included in the February Kit with the theme Posh Love! Upon opening the box that came in, this was what said hello to me! A box full of love. <3
Curious to know what were included?
I had to take them all out and I was so excited to see them because I felt that my P640 was really, as they say here in the Philippines, sulit! (I’m sorry but that Filofax Saffiano in Gold is not included in the kit. LOL.)
Breaking them all down so that you can see where I use and how I used these Posh Love stuff!
1 Pen Pouch
On the day I took the photo above, I used it as a storage for my colored pens. But recently, I’ve been using it as an on the go storage for my ink pads and acrylic blocks. I love that it’s a bit soft but enough to keep them all safe in my bag.
1 Planner Tassel
My Padme is looking so sleek with this planner tassel! I love that it complements the color of my Filofax Saffiano. It adds a chiq look although I’m not really a girly-girl.
2 Washi Tapes + a freebie!
I love the handwritten black one as much as I love the pink one, too! I’m really loving washi tapes more and more and I’m thankful this kit added three more to my growing collection.
2 Bow Clips and 3 Hearts Wooden Clips
I used the bow clips in the pockets of my planner while the wooden clips in my Instax film thread in my room. I’ve been meaning to buy more wooden clips but since I’ve been paying attention to building and growing my planner stuff collection, I keep on forgetting!
1 Mug Polka Memo
I brought this in the office for note taking purposes on the projects and tasks I work on. It’s nice to write on something not boring because it uplifts your mood and makes you more motivated to work.
1 Happy Day Hearts Pen and 1 Pink Crown Pen in Black
I love adding more pens to my collection so these two pens are really appreciated. I actually used ’em both for the week where I used most of the things from this month’s kit.
1 Checklist Memo
I also brought this in the office for days usually when we have a lot of meetings and to help me keep track of the things I need to do for the day. I also gave a few pages to my office seatmate as I know that his schedule is pretty hectic (yeah, he doesn’t mind the pink in the memo pad!).
Hearts Point Marker
I was able to use this point marker only once for the weekly spread but I deem it’ll be abused in the months (and probably years) to come. I actually hoard this stuff, too!
1 Dashboard and 2 Note Cards
I used this dashboard for the week of February 6 – February 14. I chose to keep it simple though and didn’t add any other embellishments. As for the note cards, I’m keeping them safe for future use!
4 Masking Sticker Sheets
1 Envelope and 1 Notes Memo Pad
I used one of the masking sticker sheets in my weekly spread and kept the rest of it including the envelope for designing DIYs or others in the next few weeks. My Notes memo pad are most definitely abused in the office!
1 Tab Stickers and 1 Ephemera Stickers
I haven’t touched my tab stickers yet but I’m planning to use them in fully setting up my Padme but I haven’t really figured out how though. My Ephemera stickers suffered a totally opposite fate though. I basically abused it and only a few remained in the sheet!
Here’s how I set-up my week using the kit:
As usual, I’m stoked for the March Kit! Here are a few sneak peeks grabbed from their Instagram Page!
Got to get my hands on these succulents!!! Comment down if you also ordered the Paponei’s February Kit. I would love to see how you used it!
